St. Patrick’s Day Sorry! with Lucky Charms

SUGGESTED SUPPLIES:

Activity Overview:

A super simple twist on the game of Sorry! Just substitute the colored game pawns for Lucky Charms Marshmallow pieces for of the same color and add a piece of Lucky Charms cereal at the end of every slide.

To play the game, get all four marshmallow game pieces from START to HOME by following the directions on the cards.

Setup Instructions:

1. Choose a Lucky Charms Marshmallow color to replace the Sorry! pawn color you want to be.  We recommend:

GREEN = Shamrock Hat Marshmallows

YELLOW = Shooting Star Marshmallows

BLUE = Blue Moon Marshmallows

RED = Heart or Red Balloon Marshmallows

2. Place 4 of your Lucky Charms pawns in the corresponding HOME color circle.

3. Place a Lucky Charm's cereal piece at the end of every SLIDE on the game board.

Game Instructions:

1. Follow the game instructions for Sorry! as directed on the game box.

2. If you land on a cereal piece, you get to eat it!  Decide in advance if you'd like to replace the cereal pieces as you go or if only the first one there gets the prize.  We think it's more fun to replace them and watch how it influences game strategy!

Liar's Dice

A bluffing dice game once played by sailors and pirates, Liar’s Dice takes little strategy and a lot of luck!  Players are given 5 dice to roll and hide under a cup.  Players go in a circle taking turns guessing the combined total of 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, 5’s or 6’s under all of the cups until any player decides to challenge the previous player’s guess.  If the player’s guess was wrong, they lose a die.  If the previous player’s guess was correct, the person who called the challenge loses a die.  Play continues until only one person is left with dice and is crowned the winner!
